The first session of the Interagency Committee on Development of the National Security Strategy

30 / 07 / 2019

Today, the first session of the Interagency Committee on Development of the National Security Strategy was held at the Government Hall of Consultations and Receptions.

The session was chaired by the Security Council Secretary Mr. Armen Grigoryan. At the beginning of the session, the Secretary of the Security Council delivered a speech in which he particularly mentioned:

“Dear colleagues,

Today's session is dedicated to the launch of the work on the new National Security Strategy. On this occasion let me welcome and congratulate us all.

This event has an important message: we are all well aware that the National Security Strategy is the key document that is fundamental to the sustainable and secure development of every state. This strategic document, reflecting our national interests and goals, will summarize the effective ways and approaches of developing and expanding new opportunities for enhancing the security level of the Republic of Armenia, enabling us to rethink our actions in international platforms, in the region and within our country.

One thing is evident in this multi-layered process; we are going to be guided by our national interests, goals and priorities. The level of representation of this interagency committee is conditioned by this very responsibility. I am confident that we are ready to take the lead in the process with all responsibility and excellence, ensuring active involvement of not only public administration bodies but also the public circles in the whole process of drafting the document."

The speech was followed by a close discussion of the Interagency Committee on the National Security Strategy Development.
