The Secretary of the Security Council received Lynne Tracy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia

Today, on the Armenian side's initiative the Secretary of the Security Council received Lynne Tracy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia.

The Secretary welcomed Mrs. Tracy at the SC Office, congratulated her on her new appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission.

Secretary Grigoryan presented the ongoing reforms in the security sector, in particular, the policies designed to prevent crime emphasizing their importance. The Secretary also touched upon the US financial support for the demining programs in Artsakh, noting the importance of those programs for the local residents. He also emphasized the importance of continuing the American humanitarian aid to Artsakh.

Ambassador Tracy noted that Safeguarding regional and global security is a key component of our bilateral relationship adding that she was pleased to have the opportunity to speak to Secretary Grigoryan about continuing our countries’ cooperation in this area

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of agenda issues of the Armenian-American relations. Armen Grigoryan and Lynne Tracy exchanged views on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues of the regional importance.
