RA SC Secretary A.Grigoryan had a meeting with Uzbekistan SC Secretary V.Mahmudov

On November 20, 2019, Secretary of the RA Security Council Armen Grigoryan, who is in Moscow to participate in the 7th meeting of the CIS Security Councils Secretaries, had a bilateral meeting with the Uzbekistan Security Council Secretary Victor Mahmudov.

This was the first meeting ever held between the Security Councils of Armenia and Uzbekistan. This fact was also noted by Secretary Grigoryan, who noted the positive dynamics of the Armenian-Uzbek relations at the start of the meeting, particularly highlighting the appointment of the first Armenian Ambassador and the meeting of the Heads of State.

Secretary Grigoryan also highlighted the role of the Armenian community in Uzbekistan in the development of good neighborly relations between the two countries.

Secretary Mahmudov stressed the necessarity to develop the legal basis of the relations between the two countries and the economic component. He also said that the Uzbek side is interested in developing cooperation in the fields of cyber security, military education and information technologies.

During the meeting, the parties discussed new opportunities for institutionalization of cooperation between the Security Councils of the two countries and cooperation in the military industry.

At the end of the meeting, the secretaries of the Security Council invited each other to pay official visits.
