In the third international meeting of high-ranking officials responsible for security matters in Saint Petersburg the NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan delivered a speech in the framework of the one of the discussed subjects “main directions and challenges of global energy security”.

In his speech, the Secretary touched upon the global and regional aspects of energy security in the Southern Caucasus and emphasized the importance that the Republic of Armenia attaches to energy security provision as a guarantee of sustainable economic development - diversification of energy resources and routes, development of new energy resources, enhancement of capacities of own renewable energy resources and development of hydroelectric power plant system. In addition, Artur Baghdasaryan stressed the need to enhance international cooperation in this area with the full involvement of all the countries of the region in particular.
