Today, the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan spoke on "Azatutyun TV" about Armenia's achievements in the post-revolutionary period, the pre-election process, the priorities of the current Government, and what Armenia will do in the new security environment.
Presenting the achievements and successes of the Government in the last three years, Armen Grigoryan stressed that there are many speculations on this issue, while, objectively speaking, it is obvious that even in the conditions caused by the pandemic and war, Armenia's economy has grown significantly in the last three years, making 5.2% in 2018, and 7.6%, in 2019, more than 85,000 new jobs were added, more than 1,000 kilometers of roads were built. Drawing attention to the fact that in 2008-2017 Armenia's budget increased from 822 billion drams to 1․3 trillion, Armen Grigoryan added that in 2018-2020, the budget has increased from 1.3 trillion to 1.8 trillion, that is, it has increased by about 500 billion. So, what was done in 9-10 years during Serzh Sargsyan's rule, the current Government achieved that result in 1-2 years.
Emphasizing the special attention of the ruling team to security issues, emphasizing the allocations given to the army, Secretary Grigoryan stressed that from 2018 the army budget has sharply increased. Whereas in 2008-2017, the Army’s allocations increased by only 82 billion, their political team coming to power in May 2018 increased the budget of the Armed Forces by 102 billion in just 7 months. In other words, what the previous government did in 9-10 years, the current Government did in just 7 months.
Touching upon the priorities of the policy, Armen Grigoryan strongly emphasized the security issues, the fight against corruption, which will continue to be priorities for the current Government.
