On July 11, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, gave an interview to Petros Ghazaryan.
Referring to the phone call between RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Secretary noted that the parties discussed the possibilities of moving forward more actively. In the context of normalising Armenian-Turkish relations, A. Grigoryan once again emphasised that the process of normalisation of relations is proceeding without preconditions, and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries have also noted this.
Answering the question about the possible deadlock in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the Secretary of the Security Council noted. "It cannot be described as a stalemate because the first meeting on the border delimitation took place at the level of deputy prime ministers. Both sides considered it positive, and the other meetings will take place in Moscow and Brussels. The Armenian side hopes the parties will soon reach an agreement, and the following meetings will occur. Recently, the deputy governors met in St. Petersburg within the framework of the blockade issue and generally tried to bring their positions as close as possible. I think there are also positive impulses to move forward in this regard."
Speaking about his meeting with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Shamkhani, A. Grigoryan described it as positive and effective, detailing that economic and security issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
