The Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan spoke about the aggression of Azerbaijan, the high resilience of the public administration system of Armenia, Armenia as a guarantor of regional security, the new National Security Strategy and other security issues in an interview with Petros Ghazaryan.
Referring to the new National Security Strategy and its role, the Security Council Secretary noted; “The new National Security Strategy defines that the latter is the cornerstone for all those public administration bodies which are involved in the development of security policies."
Speaking about the necessity to develop a new National Security Strategy, the Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said; "Changes have taken place regionally and globally. In addition, immense changes have taken place in Armenia in 2018. After the Revolution, there was a need for a new National Security Strategy that would consider not only internal but also external world realities."
In his speech, Armen Grigoryan mentioned the three basic principles defined in the new National Security Strategy; "First, a strong and prosperous Armenia ensures its own security. This principle has been tested to some extent lately. Second, the idea of the eternity of the Armenian statehood, which is also clearly emphasized in the opening speech of the Prime Minister. This document, in a certain sense, reflects our history. The loss of statehood has caused enormous harm throughout the history. On having a statehood, we must think long-term. One of the most important principles is resilience. State institutions must be able to withstand any threat. We increase the level of interoperability, cooperation and joint work between the state institutions."
