Interview of the Security Council Secretary on the Public Radio
23 / 07 / 2020
The Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan spoke about the events in Tavush, the new National Security Strategy and the national interests fixed in it on the Public Radio.
Speaking about the regional pipelines and their safety, Armen Grigoryan said; "We are the guarantor of the security of those pipelines, and any provocative step by Azerbaijan only poses a threat for them. I can insist that there were opportunities to target and hit the pipelines in the past, but we have never posed a threat to the regional security and economic activity. Moreover, we neutralize potential threats and create a security environment in the region."
In response to the Tavush events and comments by certain circles, the Secretary of the Security Council said; "People who say that the Prime Minister did not have his contribution, have zero knowledge about the war and the public administration system. Our armed forces have fulfilled all the tasks set before them. In addition, a solid government management system operated as the result of which the rear zone was strong. Public mobilization was at a very high level. All security institutions worked, and all this was coordinated by the Prime Minister."
Speaking about the fundamental national interests the Security Council Secretary noted; “We have formulated sovereignty, territorial integrity and Artsakh as one common national interest. Another national interest is peace and cooperation. We are enhancing the capacity of our armed forces for peace, we are developing our economy for peace, we are fighting for peace - this is our goal. The next is democracy: the experience of the last two years and the events of July have shown that democracy already has had its great contribution to ensuring the security.”
