Armen Gevorgyan Received UNHCR Office Delegation

Today, the RA NSC secretary received the deputy representative of the South Caucasus Regional Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Mr. Hy Shelow and the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Armenia Mr. Christoph Bierwirth.
The interlocutors discussed the contemporary issues of refugees and displaced persons as a result of wars and conflicts, as well as their status and living conditions.
The deputy representative of the South Caucasus Regional Office of the UNHCR welcomed the fact of providing a large number of Armenian refugees coming from Syria with asylum and granting them citizenship by Armenia.
The parties discussed the issues of mutual interest and of regional developments as well.
