Greeting his guest Mr. Gevorgyan stressed that the Armenian-Belarus cooperation in the sector of security and defence is an important component of the relations between the two countries. Therefore, it is necessary to do an important work towards the full use of opportunities available in the field.
During the meeting a wide scope of issues on the Armenian-Belarus military and military-technical bilateral cooperation was discussed. The parties also discussed the cooperation of the two countries in the framework of the CSTO. In this context, importance was attached to the decisions taken and the agreements reached on the eve at the regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defence Ministers in Armenia.
From the point of deepening the military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Belarus the interlocutors underlined the necessity of activating the current Armenian-Belarus intergovernmental committee work in that area.
Mr. Armen Gevorgyan informed the guest that currently the draft of the cooperation plan between the secretariats of the Security Councils of Armenia and Belarus is in the phase of being agreed upon. In this framework necessary attention will be paid to the deepening of bilateral military-technical and military-economic cooperation issues as well.
The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
