
CSTO Security Councils Secretaries Committee session was took place in Yerevan

Today Security Councils Secretaries Committee Session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was took place in Yerevan, which was conducted by Armen Gevorgyan, National Security Council Secretary of the chairing country, Republic of Armenia.
Security Councils delegations of the all CSTO member-states and Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha participated in the session.
First, a narrow format meeting was held, during which there was a discussion related to the issues of cooperation in countering international terrorism and extremism, as well as the conciliation process up to 2025 of the draft of the CSTO collective security strategy. CSTO Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha delivered a report on additional measures for the development of the collective security systems of the CSTO member states in the area of combating against international terrorism and extremism. Also, an information was presented about the execution process of the decision on the officials’ rotation of the CSTO bodies acting on a permanent basis.
Afterward, the session was continued in an expanded format with the participation of the delegations’ members, during which “the list of the terrorist and extremist organizations recognized in the CSTO member-states”, “the CSTO member-states representatives’ consultations plan related to foreign policy, security and defense issues for the second half of 2016 and the first half of 2017”, as well as a number of other security-related documents were discussed and signed.
It was decided that the next session of the Committee of the CSTO Security Council Secretaries will take place in October 2016, in Yerevan.
In the framework of the session of the CSTO Security Council Secretaries Committee the meeting between Armen Gevorgyan, National Security Council Secretary, and Nikolai Patrushev, Russian Security Council Secretary, was took place, during which they discussed the issues related to the cooperation between the two countries’ National Security Councils Staffs, organization of the upcoming consultations, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
In the framework of the session Armen Gevorgyan, National Security Council Secretary and President of the Committee of the CSTO Security Councils Secretaries, met with CSTO Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha. First of all, N.Bordyuzha congratulated Armen Gevorgyan on appointment in the position, then presented the implementation process of the decisions of the CSTO’s statutory bodies and priorities of the Republic of Armenia’s presidency.
