Conference Dedicated to the Start of the Program on “Support to Armenia in the Areas of Migration and Integrated Border Management (MIMBA)”

On April 19, the acting chief of staff of the National Security Council Mr. A. Tananyan participated with a speech in the conference dedicated to the start of the program on “Support to Armenia in the Areas of Migration and Integrated Border Management (MIMBA).”

According to the rapporteur, in the areas of migration and border management the EU-Armenia cooperation has a long history. In the scope of that cooperation a number of serious substantial and large-scale programs have been and are now being implemented. Particularly, the reconstruction and modernization activities of "Bagratashen", "Bavra" and "Gogavan" border crossing points with Georgia are being implemented via EU loans and grants.
“Support to Armenia in the Areas of Migration and Integrated Border Management (MIMBA)” program is being implemented by the International Centre of Developing Migration Policy which has rich practice in this direction in cooperation with the UN Development Programme. Mr. A. Tananyan emphasized that the NSC staff, as a coordinator, expects close cooperation with these organizations in direction of development and strengthening of the integrated border management and migration in the RA, wishing the program a good start and successful implementation.
