
The Russian agency for the state border facilities will commence activities in Armenia in 2014

Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, who was on a working visit to Moscow, met with Director of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service Viktor Ivanov.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the avenues for combining efforts and carrying out effective cooperation in the fight against illegal drug trafficking. In addition, the NSC and the FSKN signed a protocol outlining the respective measures to be taken as a result of which the qualifications of the staff involved in these activities and the technical equipment of the relevant bodies will be substantially improved.
An agreement was reached with Director of the RF Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities Yury Maltsev on opening a representation in Armenia and modernizing the Armenian state border according to which in March, 2014, the respective officials will be appointed and the activities of the RF Federal Agency of the State Border will start in Armenia, which will play an important role in the modernization of border infrastructures in Armenia.
Artur Baghdasaryan participated in the meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states. He delivered a report at the event and presented the official positions of Armenia.
Artur Baghdasaryan's meetings with other Russian officials are scheduled tomorrow, after which the delegation headed by him will return to Armenia.
