
It is necessary to create a State Committee for Military Industry.

Today, the second session of the Interdepartmental Commission on the implementation of the Concept of Reformation and Development of the Military Industry System of the Republic of Armenia and the Action Plan for Implementation of its provisions headed by Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan took place.
In his opening remarks, Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan touched upon the problems and prospects of the military industry in the Republic of Armenia. According to him, studies of the international experience show that in order to effectively organize the work in this field, a specialized state structure is needed which will deal with a whole range of issues related to the military industry.
"It is obvious to all of us that the military industry issues are of great importance for Armenia, and we have recently recorded positive developments, in particular," Kamaz-Armenia "company has been established recently, and the process of forming other joint ventures is also continuing. Also I would like to mention that after our previous session, a list of 24 new enterprises has been already developed in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, which can deal with the issues of the military products. And I think this is extremely important, especially if we take into account the threats facing our security and the fact that today Azerbaijan is strengthening its military infrastructure, the military industry, it is a national security priority for the Republic of Armenia to treat military industry very seriously and to support its development. Taking into account the above-mentioned, Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, as a chairman of the commission, initiated the creation of the State Committee for Military Industry. This proposal will be submitted to the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The Commission summed up the process of the implementation of the assignments of the previous meeting.
At the meeting the parties touched upon the issues related to the organization of the next session.
