Today, Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan received the delegation headed by Claudio Kavrecic, Head of the Air Border Department of the European Union's Foreign Borders Agency who arrived in Armenia to study the procedures of control, risk analysis and information exchange in the RA border crossing points and elaborate proposals for their modernization.

Welcoming the guests, Artur Baghdasaryan noted that the cooperation established by the working agreement signed between the NSC staff and FRONTEX has been developing at a positive pace. The cooperation on border security and reinforcement issues with relevant EU institutions continues on methodological and technical issues.

Arthur Baghdasaryan highlighted the importance of the cooperation with FRONTEX, which implies the introduction of the best international practice in Armenia, technical re-equipment, as well as joint analysis and exchange of experience.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Claudio Kavrecic assured that he would do his best to support the development of the cooperation.

The Head of the Air Border Department proposed to organize training courses and exchange of experience for the employees of the Border Guard Service of the Zvartnots Airport.

Artur Baghdasaryan welcomed the presented proposal and expressed his support for the implementation of the program.

During the meeting, other issues of the cooperation in the sphere of border security were also discussed.
