Artur Baghdasaryan participated in the joint session of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization

Today, the delegation headed by Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan participated in the joint session of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council at Tauride Palace in Saint Petersburg. During the session the participants discussed issues related to the cooperation of the the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils on the collective security issues, as well as the consequences of the withdrawal of the coalition forces from Afghanistan and the strengthening of the CSTO collective security system in case of possible escalation of the situation.

Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan delivered a speech at the session, and gave a general assessment of the situation in Afghanistan, touched upon a number of issues related to the expansion of the cooperation within the CSTO.
In his speech Artur Baghdasaryan informed the participants that in 2013 the Kanal-Kavkaz local anti-drug operation will be organized and implemented, the International Coordination Headquarters of which will be located in Yerevan.
