Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Telecommunications of Brazil

Today Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan received Brazilian Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Telecommunication Mr. Julio Neto who will participate in the WCIT 2019 conference in Armenia.

The Secretary emphasized the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Brazil on innovative technologies and especially in the areas of peaceful use of the universe.

Armen Grigoryan presented the guest the current state of the space industry in Armenia, the steps being taken, in particular the draft law "On Space Activities"and the current discussions on the creation of the Armenian Space Agency.
In his turn, Mr. Neto thanked for holding a high level conference and meeting.

The Deputy Minister underscored the importance of ratifying the technical cooperation agreement signed between Armenia and Brazil and pledged to promote its implementation as soon as possible. Deputy Minister Neto also presented the Brazilian plan for peaceful use of the universe and opportunities for cooperation.

The sides then discussed the possibilities of spacecraft, high technology, effective organization of satellites in geostationary orbits, education and cooperation opportunities in number of other areas.

An agreement was reached on the participation of the SC representative in the working groups to be set up.
