2012 Joint Action Plan program implemented within the framework of Armenia-CSTO cooperation has signed

Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan and CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha signed today a statement on the implementation of the agreements reached in the framework of the CSTO activities in 2012 within the framework of the previous Moscow meeting. The program was followed by a joint press conference. In his speech, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha considered Arthur Baghdasaryan's previous visit to Moscow to be most effective and successful, during which the close ties between the RA and RF National Security Councils have been further strengthened, and the meetings within the framework of the CSTO have provided an opportunity to address a wide range of issues related to cooperation, including issues related to military-economic cooperation, joint ventures, information security, as well as training in the CSTO Rapid Reaction Force. The CSTO Secretary General expressed satisfaction with the format of organizing regular working meetings to promote the effectiveness of cooperation proposed by NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan. Referring to the cooperation program, CSTO Secretary General noted: "The implementation of a number of measures in the Partnership Program will enable to more effectively use the CSTO potential in ensuring the security of the Republic of Armenia." Underlining the importance of the signed document, NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan noted: “We will carry out 15 events in Yerevan and Moscow within the framework of cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) 2012”. The measures outlined in the document cover a wide range of areas, including military-technical cooperation, border and information security, as well as in 2012. Issues related to the organization of the CSTO rapid reaction exercises in Armenia. Bilateral discussions will be held with the participation of representatives of the RA National Security Council staff, interested agencies and the CSTO Secretariat in 2012: on the issues related to the organization: “Kanal” for the fight against illicit drug trafficking, “Illegal” for the fight against illegal migration, “Proxy” for Information Security. Issues related to the establishment of joint ventures and the participation of the Republic of Armenia in international military-technical exhibitions will be discussed within the framework of the military-economic cooperation.
