
NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan received Ann Ganzer

Today, NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Arms Non-Proliferation Ann Ganzer.
Both sides highly appreciated the current level of relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of deepening further cooperation. Ann Ganzer noted with satisfaction the steps taken in the field of border security development in Armenia, welcomed the efforts of the Armenian authorities in border management and infrastructure modernization, stressing the importance of the sector in the context of combating the proliferation of weapons and ensuring international security.
Arthur Baghdasaryan noted that in the last two years serious progress has been made in the field of border management - the strategy of border security has been adopted. The Border Infrastructure Development Program has been adopted and the implementation of the appropriate action plan is underway with EU financial and technical assistance and UNDP as implementing partner. Arthur Baghdasaryan also attached importance to the role of the USA in these processes in the form of technical assistance, which will greatly contribute to the realization of the goal of getting the best results.
Ann Ganzer expressed her readiness to discuss possible support in the near future to find new avenues of cooperation in this field.
They also touched upon Armenian-Turkish relations. Attaching importance to the US efforts to normalize Armenian-Turkish relations, Arthur Baghdasaryan expressed hope that in the future they will lead to results in case of Turkey's constructive stance.
