15 / 07 / 2011

Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan received today a delegation led by Kori Udovicki, Deputy Head of UNDP, Regional Director for Europe and the CIS.
UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Dafina Gercheva was also present at the meeting.
Ms. Udovicki expressed her satisfaction with the current high level of Armenia-UN partnership and expressed readiness to discuss further areas of cooperation.
Artur Baghdasaryan emphasized the important role of UNDP as a reliable partner in the development of reform concepts and strategies in different areas, as well as in the implementation of action plans resulting from them in the context of reforms underway with the European Union in Armenia: taking as an example the National Human Rights Program, the concept of gender equality, and the Integrated Border Management Program.
The issue of organizing an international conference with the participation of UNDP, EU member states and other donors in Armenia after the Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw in October to discuss joint work and search for new partners and supporters was discussed.
