
NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan received representatives of the International Organization for Migration

Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan received today Pierre Rossi-Long and Franz Proutshie, representatives of the International Organization for Migration.
Summing up the activities of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Armenia in recent years, the guests presented the purpose of their visit, namely the Migration Management Needs Assessment to be carried out in May 2011 in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs and the State Migration Service in Armenia. within the framework of the project Empowering Evidence-Based Management of Labor Migration. Artur Baghdasaryan noted that in the context of Armenia-EU cooperation numerous reforms have been carried out in the aforementioned and related areas, various strategies have been developed, approved and implemented, including border management and border infrastructure modernization strategies, negotiations on visa facilitation, readmission agreements are underway.
Highlighting the mission's activity, Arthur Baghdasaryan expressed readiness to support them, expressing hope that the assessment mission could significantly contribute to the migration reform process.
