
International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters Begins

The discussion of agenda issues after the opening ceremony started with the RA NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan’s speech on the first day of the international meeting of high-ranking officials for security matters, convened at the initiative of the RF Security Council.
Highlighting the need of strengthening international cooperation in addressing international security contemporary threats and dangers, Artur Baghdasaryan underlined the importance of natural and technical disaster prevention, risk diminishment and elimination of consequences. He also made reference to the issue of intensification of highly dangerous influence of transnational crime and stressed the need to raise the efficiency of fight against its particularly dangerous manifestations in different areas of public life and consolidate the efforts of the international community in this regard.
Artur Baghdasaryan analyzed the increasing role of information security in today’s global security and presented a number of proposals aimed at increasing the level of international information security and conforming to contemporary requirements.
“Armenia adopted a policy of active participation in the international positive processes and brings its contribution in addressing issues related to natural and technical disasters, transnational crime and international security provision,” Artur Baghdasaryan said.
In the framework of the International Meeting Artur Baghdasaryan held bilateral meetings with National Security Adviser of India Menon Shivshankar, General Secretary of the Higher National Security Council of the United Arab Emirates Saif Sultan Alaryani, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Bulgaria Roumen Milanov. The parties discussed many issues concerning the establishment and development of cooperation between the security councils of the aforementioned countries, consolidation of efforts towards international security and other issues related political, economic and public life of these countries.
