Integrated border management program is currently effectively implemented

NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan received the delegation led by Philip Peirce, regional coordinator of the “Integrated Border Management program in the South Caucasus” implemented by the UNDP Yerevan office.

The collocutors expressed their satisfaction over the course of the program which is aimed at strengthening interagency, bilateral and regional cooperation between South Caucasus countries, EU Member States and other beneficiaries and facilitating movement of people and transportation of goods across state borders, while at the same time ensuring the guaranteed security of state borders.
Issues related to financial aid, required for modernization of border infrastructures were also discussed. Artur Baghdasaryan said the newly-established interagency commission will submit Armenia’s Border Security Strategy to the National Security Council for approval in the near future, and an action plan will be developed and implemented based on this strategy.
