NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan received today Vigaudas Ushatskas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

Issues related to Armenian-Lithuanian bilateral relations and cooperation in the international structures were discussed at the meeting.
The parties shared the opinion that the friendly relations between two nations are deeply rooted in history and conditioned by common historic peculiarities. Artur Baghdasaryan said there is a great potential to deepen cooperation in different domains between two countries. The officials agreed to foster cooperation in the fields of food security and modernization of border infrastructures. Respective visits will be arranged for that reason in the near future.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the reforms implemented in Armenia under Armenia-EU cooperation program and the Eastern Partnership. They attached importance to further intensification of Armenia-EU dialogue and cooperation with EU in the framework of the subcommittee on justice, freedom and security issues.
The two sides exchanged ideas about regional issues and made reference to NK conflict and Armenia-Turkey rapprochement process in particular. Vigaudas Ushatskas praised Armenia’s efforts aimed at normalization of relations with neighbouring countries and expressed Lithuania’s willingness to support in the Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.
