84 Actions of Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan Implemented

Today, the inter-agency commission on Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan held its first session, chaired by NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan.

The objective of the Action Plan is to enhance Armenia’s cooperation with European and Euro-Atlantic structures and institutions. The program consists of 42 measures, which include 122 actions. 84 actions have been implemented so far.
With reference to the intensification of fight against border security, terrorism, organized crime and cyber crime, Artur Baghdasaryan emphasized the importance of the elaboration of required programs and actions and coordinated inter-agency cooperation. The commission adopted a number of respective decisions in this regard.
The members of the inter-agency commission introduced the actions implementation processes according to agencies. The commission recorded that the actions implementation processes of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Justice, Emergency Situations, Health and National Security Service are fully in line with the time frames set by the Action Plan.
By a committee decision working groups were established to develop the drafts of National Information Strategy and Civil Defence National Concepts.
The next session of the committee will be held in January 2010 to summarize 2009 actions.
