National Strategy for reduction of environmental impact of pollutants to be developed

The working group on the development of national strategy for the reduction of environmental impact of pollutants held its first session, chaired by NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan, Chairman of the inter-agency commission coordinating Armenia’s cooperation with European structures.

Introducing the strategy development as an action implemented under Armenia-EU 2009-2011 program, Artur Baghdasaryan underlined the importance of the efforts aimed at the reduction of risks of the environmental impact of pollutants.
By a decision adopted at the session, the draft concept and corresponding legal acts will be elaborated through the study of European best practices and submitted for approval in accordance with the established procedure.
