NSC Secretary official visit to Belarus continues

In the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Belarus, the NSC Secretary today had a face to face meeting with Yuri Zhadobin, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, followed by an extended discussion. The parties discussed issues in relation to the formation of collective operative forces in the framework of CSTO and reached corresponding agreements.

An emphasis was placed to cooperation in military-technical sphere, and other issues related to the implementation of joint programs and mutual support were discussed.
Artur Baghdasaryan and Yuri Zhadobin mentioned that the Ministries of Emergency Situations of two countries have a great potential for cooperation and agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between two agencies.
The parties discussed the participation of Armenia and Belarus in the inter-state targeted programs and reached an agreement to form and implement joint inter-state programs in a number of directions.
Artur Baghdasaryan and Yuri Zhadobin signed a memorandum of cooperation between Security Councils of two countries defining the main directions of cooperation. The parties plan to elaborate mutually-agreed approaches to combat modern threats and to foster cooperation in fight against organized crime, border crime, drug trade, illegal migration and trafficking. The parties make a commitment to broaden cooperation in the formation of a joint system of rapid response to natural and technological disasters.
Artur Baghdasaryan visited later the Military Academy and the special military unit of Internal Affairs of Belarus. The parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between the military institution named after Vazgen Sargsyan in Armenia and Military Academy of Belarus. The agreement will regulate personnel training, recruitment and experience exchange issues.
