NSC Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan received today the delegation led by Ali RezaSheikh Attar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting was attended by Seyed Ali Saghaiyan, Ambassador of Iran to Armenia and Karen Nazaryan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iran.
Ali Reza Sheikh Attar extended the official visit invitation of Said Jalili, Secretary of the National Security Supreme Council of Iran and the proposal to conduct bilateral political consultations between two structures. Expressing his gratitude for the invitation Artur Baghdasaryan positively assessed the proposal.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues on Armenian-Iranian cooperation and regional security. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran attached importance to the role and weight of the Republic of Armenia in our region and emphasized their willingness to enhance cooperation, as they consider Armenia a valuable partner. The parties discussed cooperation issues in the security, transport and energy fields.
In his turn Artur Baghdasaryan noted the importance of Iran’s role, particularly at this difficult economic period for the Republic of Armenia and voiced hope that the bilateral cooperation of the two countries will continuously develop.
