Working meeting with the EU Ambassador to Armenia

Today secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan held a working meeting with the EU Ambassador to Armenia Pyotr Svitalski at the Security Council Office. Armen Grigoryan emphasized that based on the rich experience and partnership of Armenia-EU cooperation, Armenia is ready to continue to strengthen the cooperation with the European Union in the areas of civil society and democracy, as well as in the fight against corruption, experience sharing and cyber security”.
Ambassador Svitalsky in his turn emphasized that the EU was ready to assist Armenia in the framework of the expected reforms, to expand cooperation and create new platforms for dialogue. Ambassador Svitalski also expressed his concern over border tensions by agreeing that the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict had no alternative. At the same time, the ambassador noted that he shared Armen Grigoryan’s concern over the encouragement of the Azerbaijani authorities' war rhetoric and hatred speeches. During the meeting they discussed other issues of mutual interest.
