Meeting with the director at the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory

Today secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan received Areg Mickaelian, director at the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory named after V. Hambardzumyan. Mr. Mickaelian presented a number of local and regional projects implemented by the Institute, which were related to astrophysics. According to Armen Grigoryan the development of our homeland security concept was directly related to science and education. In that sense both sides affirmed that, through the continuous development of the science sector they could have professional staff for developing and strengthening the security sector.
According to Areg Mickaelian, Byurakan Astrophysical Institute was one of the best professional centers in the world, despite the shortage of financial resources. Thanks to their potential, their specialists have made considerable contribution to the studies of the universe.
At the end of the conversation Mr. Mickaelian gave Armen Grigoryan several works concerning the universe and astronomy, which were mainly about astrophysicist Victor Hambardzumyan’s researches.
