Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan meets with Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos State Corporation

On April 27, within the framework of his visit to Moscow-Dushanbe, the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan and the General Director of Roscosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin met in Moscow.

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Grigoryan congratulated Mr. Rogozin on International Space Day as its 60th anniversary was on April 12th.

Secretary Grigoryan highlighted that Russia occupies a leading position in several areas in the field of aerospace, and subsequently, emphasized the importance of Armenian-Russian cooperation. In the context of developing space-related activities, Armenia prioritizes mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia.

Secretary Grigoryan discussed the prospects for developing space activities in Armenia and Russian-Armenian cooperation, and informed that Armenia has adopted a law “On Space Activities” that would offer tax benefits to those companies that engage in space activities in Armenia.

Dmitry Rogozin praised the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the field of space monitoring. He suggested to expand the cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the field of design and development of space technologies.

The parties agreed to set up a working group to clarify the directions and specify the tasks in the field of space activities between Armenia and Russia.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Rogozin invited the Armenian side to the International Conference on Global Space Exploration (GLX-2021) from June 14-18 in St. Petersburg. Mr. Rogozin stressed that Armenia's representation in such platforms will provide opportunities to achieve new agreements for cooperation in this area.

The parties agreed to summarize the workin group’s results during Dmitry Rogozin’s visit to Armenia this summer.
