
The Secretaries of Security of Councils of Armenia and Tajikistan, Armen Grigoryan and Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, held a phone conversation

At the beginning of the conversation, Armen Grigoryan congratulated Nasrullo Mahmudzoda for the Fitr holiday celebrated in Tajikistan.
Given the recent events and Armenia’s application to the CSTO, Armen Grigoryan presented the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to his Tajik counterpart.
Armen Grigoryan highlighted the role of the CSTO in this issue, as well as the Tajikistan's stance as the country currently holding the chairmanship of the CSTO.

Grigoryan emphasized that the current situation is unprecedented for the CSTO. Hence it offers a unique test for this international security institution and matters for its image.
Presenting the current situation, Armen Grigoryan stressed that Armenia perceives the situation as an encroachment on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Armenia expects an adequate response within the framework of allied relations of the CSTO member states.
The parties discussed the possible tools and available response options for this situation outlined by the CSTO regulations and documents.
Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, in turn, highlighted the need for a peaceful settlement of the issue and highly appreciated the Armenian side’s restrained and balanced approach. Nasrullo Mahmudzoda emphasized the importance of utilizing all possible mechanisms for a quick solution to the issue. He expressed readiness to support a peaceful and rapid solution within the framework of the CSTO and as the representative of a country chairing the organization.
In the context of the current situation, the parties highlighted the importance of the upcoming session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe.
