Armenian-Russian Interdepartmental Consultations on Information Security Were Held in Yerevan

Armenian-Russian interdepartmental consultations on information security were held in Yerevan on February 10, 2022.

The delegation headed by Khramov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, was included representatives of the RF Security Council staff, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Digitalization, the Ministry of Justice, the Federal Security Service, and the Prosecutor General's Office. The Armenian delegation headed by Hayk Petrosyan, Head of the Security Council Office, included representatives of the Security Council Office, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Justice, High-Tech Industry, National Security Service and EKENG CJSC.

During the consultations, a substantial exchange of views took place on international and regional platforms and all aspects of the Armenian-Russian cooperation on information security issues in the bilateral dimension.

Reference was made to the results of the first substantive discussion of the 2021-2025 Working Group on Responsible ICT Application established within the framework of the UN. The urgency of strengthening international cooperation in the fight against information crimes was stressed.

The parties reaffirmed the importance of expanding efforts to ensure information security within the CIS, CSTO, and the OSCE.

Based on the results of the talks, a draft bilateral agreement on cooperation in information security was agreed upon at the expert level.
