The Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan Met With Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Co-President Andrius Kubilius

On February 21, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with Andrius Kubilius, Member of the EU Parliament, Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Inga Stanite-Tolochkiene was also present.

The sides exchanged views on regional and international security and stability issues during the meeting. The Secretary of the Security Council presented to his interlocutor the positions of the Republic of Armenia on stability in the region, long-term settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, unblocking of all regional communication channels, delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. A. Grigoryan stressed the need for a comprehensive and durable settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, as well as he presented humanitarian issues that need an urgent solution, emphasizing the need for the immediate repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees. Moreover, the need to preserve the Armenian historical, cultural and religious heritage in the territories now under Azerbaijani control.

Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Andrius Kubilius praised the process of democratic reforms in Armenia stressed that the Republic of Lithuania is ready to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation and promote the deepening of Armenia-EU bilateral cooperation.
