Today Secretary of the Security Council Mr. Armen Grigoryan received Mr. Seyyed Kazem Sajjad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia at the Security Council office.
During the warm and friendly meeting Armen Grigoryan noted that Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran had proven the mutual desire to maintain and develop high-level political relations and those relations had never suffered from difficult situations of Armenia or Iran. Highly appreciating the rich history of mutual assistance and cooperation between the two countries and peoples, Armen Grigoryan expressed hope that the high level of political relations between two countries would contribute to the same high-level economic relations, which in its turn would contribute to our stable security.
Ambassador Sajjad also spoke about the exceptional high level of relations between our countries, underlined that Armenia is the partner with the warmest and neighborly relationship being the only Christian neighbour of Iran. The ambassador welcomed the efforts of the Government formed as a result of velvet, non-violent revolution in Armenia to deepen the relations between the two countries and underlining the importance of the forthcoming visit of Nikol Pashinyan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed readiness to support the cooperation of our countries in energy, health, financial and many other spheres.
