Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan visited the Byurakan Astronomical observatory named after Victor Hambardzumyan

On August 21, 2018, the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan visited the Byurakan Astronomical observatory named after Victor Hambardzumyan. During the visit, the Secretary met with Areg Mikayelyan, the Director of the South-West and Central Asia Region of the International Astronomical Union.
During the meeting, Mikaelyan presented activities of the Observatory, its role, and significance for both Armenia and the whole region.
Issues related to the activities of the Observatory were discussed, in particular, the prospects of future developments, new opportunities, as well as, the possibility of developing and implementing a satellite program for enhancing access and security of telecommunication systems in Armenia.
