A Table-Top Exercise is Being Held Within the Framework of the Fight Against Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)

A joint table-top exercise occurs in Yerevan from May 20 to 24. Representatives of the state administration bodies responsible for preventing and countering emergency situations caused by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBM) factors are participating. The exercise is being held within the framework of the fight against Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), coordinated by the Office of the Security Council and supported by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

The exercise aims to observe and strengthen the existing capabilities and response measures to prevent the spread of IED threats, containment, detection, and interdiction. This will allow the Armenian side to assess the current situation of preparedness and response, highlight the gaps, including from the point of view of inter-agency cooperation, and can also be the basis for the creation of a national response plan.
