The meeting of the US President’s Counselor on National Security at the RA NSC office
On October 25, 2018, RA NSC Secretary Armen Grigoryan, Acting Minister of Defense David Tonoyan and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with John Bolton, US President’s Counselor on National Security, at RA NSC office. Greeting the guests NSC Secretary Armen Grigoryan underscored, in particular: “It is especially worth mentioning the fact that such a high-rank US delegation arrived in Armenia at this critical period of the modern history of the Armenian people. I would like to particularly underline that Armenia greatly appreciates further development and deepening of bilateral political, economic and commercial ties with the USA”.
US President’s Counselor on National Security John Bolton mentioned in his speech: “I am glad to be in Armenia in order to emphasize the importance of our bilateral relations as well as to touch upon a wide circle of problems concerning the region and these relations. I consider this opportunity of discussing problems of mutual interest, particularly those concerning national security and strategy together with the US policy with regard to Iran, Russia and Syria vitally important. It is equally important to discuss our joint efforts in strengthening stability in the region. We support the democratic changes going on in Armenia, changes which lead to more prosperous, more independent and freer future”.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of problems on the agenda, the foreign policy priorities of the two countries. They exchanged ideas about urgent problems on the regional and international agenda.
Both parties especially emphasized the role of the Armenian community in the USA in developing Armenian-American relations.
